HIVE Oakland

Flynn Architecture is a small architecture firm based out of Oakland, California. While working as a draftsperson and intern architect for Flynn, I was tasked with a full revision of construction documents for two new apartment buildings. The apartments are part of a larger mixed-use development and community engagement project called HIVE Oakland. HIVE has been designated a LEED Neighborhood development based its proximity to public transportation, use of existing historical structure, and green building practices. The project includes 100,000 square feet of rehabilitated commercial and retail space along with 104 new apartment units. The project provides a space for local businesses, social entrepreneurs and artists to live, work, and collaborate.
