Rough Cut Dining Table

The dining table is the centerpiece to any house – a gathering place for shared meals, stories and relationships. This table is made of rough-cut 2x4 chestnut beams milled over one hundred years ago on the site of an old homestead in the hills. Enchanted by the pattern of the original mill cuts, I chose to leave much of the texture revealed in the finished table top. Notching the bottom along a center beam, I mounted the surface on a refinished oak base.
