Geo Table

21" L x 21” W x 27” H

Most of the older houses in Western Massachusetts were constructed at a time when horsehair and lathe plaster walls were the norm. As buildings are rehabilitated to meet modern standards, there is a wealth of wooden lathe destined for the dumpster. This table highlights the natural color variation that develops in the wood. There is always a light side where the wood has been in contact with the plaster and a darker side that has aged with the exterior of the house. The pattern speaks to the movement and transition of our time – a desire to move forward without abandoning the past.
