Pablo y Pablo

Location: Seattle, WA
Area: 2,400 sf

This Mexican restaurant and bar utilizes ceramic tiles, steel wire glass, paper lanterns, vintage furniture and hand dyed wall art to create a warm and energetic environment. Working in partnership with Hinge Studio and Heavy Restaurant Group, this project found it’s inspiration in the friendship of Pablo Picasso and Pablo Neruda; two artists who’s relationship found a common cause in both art and peace from different corners of the world. The long narrow geometry of the space offered a challenging but fun puzzle for restaurant design. A bottle lined steel and wood shelf extends floor to ceiling along the street front window wall – creating a glowing lantern drawing passersby into the space. A flexible, covered, outdoor seating area allows this restaurant to double its dining capacity in the warmer months.
